In order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority and to empower the citizens to secure access to information under the control of each public authority, the Government of India has brought out an Act, namely, “The Right to Information Act, 2005", (RTI Act) which came into force on 15.6.2005.
"The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is committed to complete transparency and fairness in meeting the aspiration of its stakeholders. The Council endeavors to make available maximum information on the website of the CSIR in consonance with the spirit and provisions of the “Right to Information Act, 2005”.
SPWF helps the society spreading awareness about RTI and help the needful.
The State Forum carries the cases to the government to suggest corrective measures.
